Rafting down the Katun river (upper and middle part)

TOUR PROGRAM
Day 1
Ust-Kamenogorsk - the Yazevoe lake. Further up to the Katun river, to the beginning of raft. (480 km)
Day 2
Preparation of rafting equipment. Beginning of raft. Passing of 'Three stones' threshold. Overnight in the Kara-Blag river's mouth. (25 km).
Day 3
Checking 'Five cheeks' threshold, organization of insurance. Passing the thresholds and rafting continuation. Passing the 'Prison' and 'Vishnyaki' thresholds. Overnight near the Zelenka river's mouth. (30 km).
Day 4
Passing the 'Clock' and 'Knee' thresholds. Overnight near the Kaytanak river's left tributary. (40 km).
Day 5
Rafting continuation. At this section the valley becomes wider, The main obstacles are shallows and channels. There is the Koksa river flowing in on the left, the Multa river on the right and the Nizhny Kurgan river. (35 km).
Day 6
At this section the valley becomes narrower, the speed of flow increases. Passage of a difficult threshold 'Akkem breakthrough'. Overnight at the Argut rivers left tributary (25 km).
Day 7
Overday at the meadow near the Argut river's mouth. There is a tourist souvenirs museum at the open air there.
Day 8
There are a few rather simple threshold up to the Chui river. There are also a few thresholds lower the Chui river and the Insky threshold. After Inya settlement the river is rather calm up to Yaloman.(40 km).
Day 9
After Yaloman threshold become more difficult. The most difficult threshold at this day is 'Ilgumen'. Right after the river you can have a rest. (20 km)
Day 10
The section here is very difficult. Right after the Kusyur tributary you need to pull in for exploring of the most difficult threshold 'Kadrinsky'. Then you will overcome threshold 'Sabbath'. There is only one place with swells in the Ursula river's mouth. (25 km).
Days 11
On the section from the Bib Smulta river up to the Edigan river there are thresholds every two kilometers.Then we stop at the Edigan river's mouth. (50 km).
Days 12
Go exploring the coast then pass thresholds 'Teldekpens I and II'. At this day we also will pass 'Elandinsky' and 'Chemalsky' thresholds near the Chemal river (25 km).
Day 13
After Chemal calm sections are interleaved with thresholds, swells and whirlpools. The last threshold 'Manzherok gates'. The remain section is simple.The river goes out of mountains and riverbed divided into channels. Rafting ends near Mayma settlement (35 km).

Departure from Mayama settlement to USt-Kamenogorsk

Arrival to Ust-Kamenogorsk
